Clay Barnett is a native of Texas City and graduated from Texas City High School. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and earned his Master of Science in Educational Mid-Management from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. His certifications include: Secondary Social Studies Composite; Elementary Generalist; Gifted and Talented; and Administration Pre K - 12. He taught secondary history and government in Clear Creek ISD for 36 years and also taught at Our Lady of Lourdes in Hitchcock for 7 years. He completed the requirements for the Archdiocese Catechist Certification. He is a member of St. Mary's Parish in Texas City. He believes in staying active and always trying to learn as much as one can. He enjoys traveling, reading, swimming, jogging, walking, gardening, and loving his Boston Terrier pups, Aussie and Kay. Everyone knows he hates cooking. College football teams he cheers for include: Texas Tech, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss,: pro - football Kansas City Chiefs; and in baseball - the Astros! I will always be most grateful to the late Dr. Al ("Boss") Varisco for making it possible for me to teach the most awesome students ever at St. Clare.
